The second goal 2 minutes from the break was a reversal of the 1st. with Shorthouse's cross from the left finding Spink whose volley found the net, via a deflection.

Sporting then went barmy at the start of the second half with striker Jason Cowley netting a six minute hat-trick, his first was a penalty after the forward had been felled by keeper Scott Bannister in the Pelsall goal, the second a sublime run and finish "John Barnes from Brazil" and the third when a converted a header at the far post from a Sam Wills cross. Triple substitution was made just after the hour when John Pykett, Andy Nicol and Tom Craine replaced Ahmed Ali, Cowley and Shorthouse.

Nicol scored his first after a Pelsall defender had handled on the line converting a penalty with aplomp. Craine then got in on the act when he converted from 2 yards after 82 minutes. Sporting were down to 10 men when Spink limped off, but were still able to add 3 more before the end with Nicol adding his second in the 86th minute before Wills added a goal just into time added on, and Nicol completed his own hat-trick with 3 minutes overtime on the clock.
