The Rouslers missed out again in progressing to the first qualifying round on the F. A. Cup when they suffered a 4-3 defeat to fellow Midland Football League Premier Division side Coleshill Town at the Victoria Ground. Sporting took the lead in the 14th. minute when Liam Spink hit a terrific shot from the edge of the area after good work from Reece Hewitt and Sam Wills had set the chance up. However the lead was short lived when ex Rousler Matt Gardner equalised when he was on hand to fire home after Reece Francis had saved from Dean Rathbone. The Coalmen took the lead in spectacular fashion as Ryan Edmunds found the top corner with a stunning strike that gave Francis no chance. Bromsgrove were back on terms before the break when Jordan Jones hit a stunning left foot shot which saw 'keeper Paul Hathaway grasping at air. Within 3 minutes of the start of the second period the Rouslers were back in front after a neat one-two with Spink saw the tireless Max Loveridge convert past the advancing Hathaway. Coleshill were again level, this time from the penalty spot after Jones had fouled Edmunds in the 58th. minute, Rathbone coolly slotted the spot kick sending Francis the wrong way. The boys from Pack Meadow got what turned out to be the winner when another ex Bromsgrove player, Liam Molesworth, twisted and turned on the edge of the penalty area and his powerful shot found the bottom corner. Attention now turns back to the league with a fixture against Stourport Swifts on Tuesday evening at the Victoria Ground.Back
