Bromsgrove Sporting's brilliant F. A. Vase run for season 2016/17 ended at the semi-final stage, when they were beaten 1-0 by Cleethorpes Town at the Bradley Football Development Centre.

Sporting suffered the worst start possible when the Toolstation Northern Counties (East) League leaders, Cleethorpes Town striker Gary King netted with 50 seconds of the start when he lobbed keeper Ryan Price with a most deft touch.

Sporting gradually got themselves back into the game and for the majority of the rest of the game had most of the play, but just couldn't find a way through a well drilled and organised Cleethorpes back line.

So the Wembley arches dream is put to bed for season 2016/17. Attention now turns to the main objective of the season, promotion to the Midland Football League Premier Division, as the Rouslers travel to Racing Club Warwick on Tuesday evening, kick off at Townsend Meadow is 7-45pm.
