Bromsgrove Sporting produced a stunning first hald performance to seal victory at Sheepy Road against an Atherstone Town side that could have finished the season in second place in the Midland Football League Division 1.

Sporting took the lead in the 18th. minute when a Chris Lloyd right wing corner has headed home at the far post by captain Craig Jones, the second came in the 27th. minute, this time a Jason Cowley header finding the net from another Lloyd cross, this time from a free-kick from the left. Cowley made it three 4 minutes later when he duly dispatched a penalty after Reece Hewitt had been fouled in the penalty area. Lloyd himself scored the 4th. himself after being put through one on one with the Adders keeper, which he duly dispatched with aplomb.

There was a vast improvement from Atherstone in the second half, without really troubling Neil Leech in the Rouslers goal, more chances were also squandered at the other end, but all the damage had been done in the first half in front of Atherstone's best crowd of the season, 404.

Sporting play their final away league game this season when they take on Nuneaton Griff at the Pingles Stadium on Wednesday evening, knowing that avoiding defeat will mean a complete season unbeaten away from home if they do.
