Statement From The Chairman |
| Posted Dave (dave) on Nov 24 2011 |
It is with regret that we have accepted that Stewart Brighton has stepped down as coach. This is something he has contemplated for some time and with the pressures of football and his own business it is understandable. We owe a lot to Stewart who took us to promotion with that fantastic run of results in the second half of last season.Stewart had a long history with Rovers and brought his experience to Sporting and we are anxious not to lose that and are pleased to announce he will take over a Scouting Role which up to now we have been sorely lacking. Stewart will therefore continue to have a long term relationship with the club much to delight of the Board.
Our policy is always to look inward where possible for personnel promotion and advancement and to that end I am delighted to appoint on behalf of the Board that Keith Draper as Stewart's replacement. Keith has managed our Central Conference Team with great success and of course has been involved with the majority of our players at various levels of the game. He takes over immediately and will manage his first game this Saturday against Perrywood.
Anything you read that is different to the above I suggest you ignore.
